The Ormeggiatori Otranto provides secure floating pontoon mooring for vessels up to 22m, though the draft is strictly limited to 2.5 meters. The town itself is spectacular, featuring awe-inspiring baroque architecture.52 Passage: The Strait of Otranto acts as a massive hydrodynamic and aerodynamic funnel between Italy and Albania, accelerating both northerly and southerly winds. Inside the harbor, cruisers must beware of the shallow depth immediately around the fuel dock and watch for a submerged stone block on the starboard side of the floating pontoon.54
