Located just a few nautical miles off the coast of Marseille, this limestone archipelago offers rugged, deep anchorages and a dedicated small marina. It serves as an excellent staging point to escape the intense urban density of the mainland while waiting for a weather window.27 Passage: The limestone seabed provides excellent holding in patches of mud and sand, but protection is highly directional. Vessels must choose bays carefully based on the specific wind axis, as a sudden wind shift can quickly turn a calm anchorage into a dangerous lee shore.
